Short Bio
Benjamin Weder received his PhD degree in Computer Science (Quantum Computing) at the University of Stuttgart in 2024. The focus of his research is the combination of quantum computing and established software engineering concepts, such as workflow technologies, provenance, and deployment automation systems. Moreover, he worked on pattern languages for quantum computing and green computing. Dr. Weder is actively participating in various Program Committees, e.g., Quantics, IQSOFT, and QSW, and is an experienced workshop chair. Currently, he works as a green BPM and quantum computing consultant at envite consulting GmbH.

SCOPE
As quantum computing moves from theoretical promise toward practical application, the engineering challenges of building, running, and orchestrating quantum software are becoming as important as the quantum algorithms themselves. The special session on Quantum Services and Orchestration brings together researchers and practitioners to explore how established software engineering principles can be employed in the context of quantum computing, and where new approaches are needed for the unique demands of hybrid quantum-classical systems. By focusing on collaboration, the special session will foster sharing insights between participants on theoretical foundations, practical applications, and the development and orchestration of hybrid systems that leverage the best of both worlds. Thereby, it provides a forum for discussing and improving preliminary research results and emerging ideas.
TOPICS OF INTEREST
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Software Architectures for Quantum Services
- Execution Environments for Quantum Services
- Interoperability and Portability Across Platforms
- Automation of Deployment and Execution Pipelines
- Orchestration of Hybrid Quantum Applications
- Monitoring and Observability for Quantum Applications
- Modeling Approaches for Quantum Software
- Lifecycle Management of Quantum Applications
